I don’t mind valentines dressed in veins of gold with diamond flecks. Low radios towards a sea lit sunlight he waits for the call it is a love letter to humanity. Past the left and the right wing, we do best to study the brain of a bird that sings. Rage goes blind when telling lies and we are all the words we have to write. And we think and so sink for the things we wanted. We write from the heart and we find all the words that we think we need. Strings so tight the weakest find, destinations hold on weakest flesh. He is shouting over empty lawns static laced and facing westward for an eastern dawn.

Same Tree
03:07
When we fight to the doors and it bleeds through the walls some advice comes up short and we keep to the halls. We pray. You and me we may have fallen out of the same tree we may have gone and drifted on the same breeze but now we’re all drifting apart. And we bite to the bone and it shows what we’ve been through too and we wait to come home. We’ve gone too far this time. We try to be closer we die to see if we can be loved. We can be loved.

If You Will

Imagine if you will you and me side by side loving all we see driving down this country side. Spread out in the weeds wide-eyed for meteors I can hear you breathe sick with safety for our fears. Buzzing fills the breeze in the cotton fields there you can run with me leave the stones that fill your air. Imagine if you will silver silos running fast coming on so strong solace ‘til dreams are past. You will walk with me to the raceway’s broken dam swim along the way watch the sun & face our plans. Beet seeds in our hands bred to last ‘til winter’s end tough rows where we grow learn the mercy for ourselves. Changes in the trees make me want to take your hand through the centuries rain upon this on red clay land. I’ll stand by you. In the fields where we laid like we used to. Imagine if you will you and me side by side. Imagine if you can side by side there we’ll stand.

Numbers = Do The Math
03:25
Blind behind we search to find a way to take back all our days unkind. We can get over the sting in time finding your feet not to tow the line. Signs divine when stars align the glow only lasts till daylight shines. Lose your mind in rising sound screaming from caves and the underground. No pacifist can handle this with open fists they do the math. Grab a kiss from ones you miss they may not get to do the math. Yarns we spin won’t turn to gold lies and the beauty it all grows old. Measured by my bumps and bones I make it from here and I’ll take it home.

Sunlight Squares
04:02
Oh, how the morning sunlight squares on pre-arranged and pushed-in chairs, for now we look to the warming skies for the one that tells and the one that can’t be told. A breeze can pass through the summers as a mother drifts through her lovers you know we can be fine just to bury a head or two. Not everyone in the market cares if science shows how porous thin we are. Can’t leap through the window’s fire but they’ll all look down to weigh you when you do. I will go on to tell these stories if we have to part and you, you won’t be the one left when they move. Pines will be burning through the summers and the boys will be gone to their mothers until houses are left and everybody sees right through. We had it all in the daughters we have come to free the towers we once climbed to see the view.

Along the walls of empty exhibition halls diagrammed designs detail our plight of falling. The heights we reach today with hopes our ropes will stay one calibrated misstep into air. Faith is flight a feather bent when held too tight lost then found on the ground. In fighting for the sun with hopes our days will come to share the worth of lifetime’s work well won. Falling down, falling down.

Slow Motion Kid
03:52
This slow motion kid, he don’t know what it is. It’s hard for us to see that his plans are lost and he’ll drag us out to sea another time. After the leaves come off I’ll go to find another one. Sweet syrup comes from maple trees and hammered spikes will keep the buckets hung. Must be how slow the sap will run and still the Laziest King is making me sing for you. These slow motion kids don’t know what they did. It pleases them to know these are lives that show pure hearted actions are born not from the well informed and the laziest king was making me sing for you but I chose to and I wasn’t good to you.

Say goodbye to your records and turn down the rheostats. You get lost when you’re lonely, but your fans won’t help you back. You will see everything’s gonna need time, but it’s taken from you line by line. It’s in the code. Load the screens to find, go to screens that blind, go to see we’re blind, it’s in the code.

Slighted
03:37

The song you sang was slighted and it rang through the night. The melody came and split the night like the great divide. The song you sang was slighted. I would stay with you to right it, I could stay with to you write it down till the cows come home and they graze in the night.

Uniform
03:16
Do you believe in a uniform? Do you believe in the truth? Do you have something to prove? Some days I dream of P.T. Barnum with the circus at my door straight and narrow lines are filed for a new side of the same coin. Now the slyest slight of hand, painted feathers they can wear, flocks of kids with flags are trying a belief in a uniform. We run in small circles with fine drawn out border lines. Many of our missteps they will have us doing time. When you have to tell them harder, get it inked into your skin. Written down across a forearm, a firm belief in a uniform. Do you have something to lose?

Yellow Sun, Shine
03:39
Hey now, we go on hell bound to find it all and nothing to keep us well. People standing in breadlines making headlines to walk out to. She stooped to tie a lace undone the race that is unwon she will finally lose and she’ll know that it can’t be fought when we row the boat that is sunk and we’re going to be drowned. I know we could do it, if we really could see through it. Hey now, we go on hell bound to find it all. We’ll go, being so bent out, to find another shape. Double doors are for Sundays souls wait for one day we’ll go on back. I can’t think anything else that might keep us going so we’ll hold the sway of the night. The sun goes black, we dream til dawn then we go outside to see if it rained. You know I think we could do it if we really could see through it. Hey now, we go hands held to find the rain. Bent out, with doubt. Bent out to find another shape. Races across the nation feel elation to face that final call. Yellow sun. To find another one. This is the final sum to find someone so we can know the end.
